BSDA TIME LINE: 1996-2018

1996

  • BSDA started as NGO Activity in the Mohishkotha village of 6 # UP under Sadar Upazila of Dinajpur District.
  • Launched Literacy Education.

1997

  • Registered by the Department of Social Services.

1998

  • Survey and Group formation.
  • Savings mobilization and Micro-credit, Health and Nutrition education.
  • Development education and Training initiative.
  • TEEP initiated under Training Activity

1999

  • Integrated Development Program (IDP) initiated with Income generation and WATSAN.
  • Forestry and Environment development.
  • Women development awareness activity.
  • Initiated Micro-Enterprise Development Assistance Project (MEDAP).
  • TEEP renamed as BSDA Computers which was under TEEP.

2000

  • Social awareness and Development Activity started under IDP including NFPE and Adolescent education.
  • Human rights and Gender development.
  • Started Poultry and Livestock Development activities.
  • Micro-credit expanded to general loan, seasonal loan with MEDAP.
  • BSDA enlisted with the Department of Youth development.

2001

  • Health and Environment development activity started under IDP including Nursery and homestead vegetable gardening.
  • Women, Children and Human rights development activity started which including birth registration child schooling.
  • Awareness rising on Human and Child rights, marriage, registration and gender.
  • Awareness rising against early marriage, divorce, dowry, woman torture and Child and women trafficking.
  • Training component included HRD and computer training,

2002

  • Started Micro-credit programme.
  • Started Income generating, group formation and individual activities.
  • Whole Micro-credit started poverty reduction activity.

2003

  • Post-literacy and Continuing education for Human Development (PLCEHD)-1 Project. Launched under setting Education Program.
  • Skill Development training launched under training activity.
  • Micro-Credit Support Program (MCSP) established with all micro-credit activities.
  • Housing loan support project launched under the MCSP.

2004

  • Set up a the Social Development Program (SDP) with all existing social development activities.
  • A training programme established all existing training components.

2005

  • Women-Child and Human Rights Development project under SDP.
  • WatSan Project launched.
  • Public Health and Sanitation Development Project launched.

2006

  • BSDA Computer’s got affiliation from Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB), Dhaka.
  • The HIV/AIDS prevention project launched.
  • SDP included Health and Environment Development Project.

2007

  • SDP included Primary Health Care project.
  • BSDA included Awareness Education Project.
  • Environment Awareness / Education Project (EAEP) established with exiting environment issues.
  • Set up the Homestead Vegetable and Nursery Development Project with existing Vegetable and Nursery issues.

2008

  • BSDA obtained the Micro-credit Regulatory Authority (MRA) license from BB, Dhaka.
  • Expanded Women and Children Development, Human Rights Promotion and Legal Aid support and Good governance Activities.
  • Started Pilot Project on Good governance and Policy Advocacy.

2009

  • Education and Training Program formed merging Education Program and Training Program.
  • Started the Food Security and Agriculture Development Project (Pilot Project)
  • Initiated the Access to Disable Rights Project initiated (Pilot Project).
  • IGA component expanded to IGA Training (IT).
  • HR training expanded to HR and Capacity building training.
  • Nursery Development (Health, Nutrition and Homestead Gardening Project (HNHGP).
  • BSDA registered by the NGO Affairs Bureau under Office of the Prime Minister, Dhaka.
  • WatSan project have been phase out.
  • HIV/AIDS Awareness and Prevention was started in 3 Unions of Dinajpur Sadar Upazila.

2010

  • Good governance and Policy advocacy project have shifted from Pilot project to Social development project under SDP.

2011

  • In the 3rd phase BSDA has started Awareness on Disaster Risk Reduction Project (DRRP) for Urban and Rural Areas of Dinajpur and Rangpur.

2012

  • The HNHGP project transformed in to Public Health and Nutrition Awareness Project (PHNAP)
  • BSDA launched its new Computer Training and HR Development Project (CTHRDP).
  • Started Protecting Women and Children Rights Awareness Project (PWCRAP).
  • BSDA started Adibasi Development Project (Micro Finance Assistance and Awareness) at Chirirbandar Upazila under Dinajpur and at Badarganj Upzila under Rangpur where there are Adibasi communities.
  • Comprising two previous projects namely (EAEP and DRRP) launched a new pilot project called Disaster Environment and Climate Change Awareness Project (DECAP).
  • BSDA started Disabled Rehabilitation and Rights Awareness Project (DRRAP) within the Dinajpur Municipality areas.
  • Two DRR projects (Environment Development Project and Awareness on Disaster Risk Reduction Project for Urban and Rural Areas of Dinajpur and Rangpur) merged and renamed as Disaster, Environment and Climate Change Issue Awareness project.
  • Food Security and Agricultural (FoSal) Project initiated.
  • Under the pilot project BSDA implementing research projects and the components are:
  • History and Heritage (About Dinajpur)
  • Climate Change and (Ghagra River in Dinajpur)
  • Integrated Approach (Chirirbandar Upazila, Auliapukur Union).

2013

  • BSDA started its Vulnerable Group Development (VGD) Project in Ghoraghat Upazila under Dinajpur District.

2014

  • BSDA started its Education Support Programme from 1st July 2014 with the objective to support its poor beneficiary’s quality students to continue their better education.

2015

  • BSDA started its Education Support Programme from 1st July 2014 with the objective to support its poor beneficiary’s quality students to continue their better education.

2016

  • BSDA expanded its Education Support Programme from 1st January 2016 with the objective to support its poor beneficiary’s quality students to continue their better education.

2017

  • At present BSDA is operating the Vulnerable Group Development (VGD) project of the Department of Women Affairs (DWA) under the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MoWCA).in Fulbari Upazila under Kurigram District.

2018

  • This year BSDA expanded its Primary Education (NFPE) Project in 2 Divisions and in 8 Districts. At the same time BSDA also entered in formal education programme through starting a BSDA Primary Education Academy (A quality Primary Education and Research Institute) and BSDA Education Academy (A quality High School Education and Research Institute).
